Unlock Extra Funding with OZEV Workplace EV Charging Grants for Staff & Fleets

The OZEV Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) helps UK businesses, charities, and public sector organisations install workplace EV charging stations at a reduced cost. Covering up to 75% of installation and hardware expenses, it’s one of the most effective ways to make your site EV-ready while saving thousands on setup.

What Does the Workplace Charging Scheme Cover?

75% of the installation cost per socket

Eligible businesses can claim a significant contribution towards their workplace EV charger installation, reducing upfront expenses and supporting sustainability goals.

£350 per socket, up to 40 sockets per applicant

The grant allows you to install up to 40 workplace EV charging points, helping businesses scale their EV infrastructure efficiently.

Hardware + installation included

Unlike some schemes, the workplace EV charging grant covers both hardware and labour, ensuring your EV charging solution is fully supported from supply to setup.

Available to most UK workplaces

The grant applies to any business with off-street parking, including offices, warehouses, depots, retail parks, and logistics sites.

Who’s Eligible for the Workplace Charging Scheme?

You may qualify if your organisation is:

  • A UK-registered business, charity, or public authority

  • Installing OZEV-approved smart workplace chargers

  • Has dedicated off-street parking for staff or visitors

  • Has not exceeded the 40-socket maximum grant limit

You don’t need to own electric vehicles yet — demonstrating future intent to support EV use for staff, visitors, or fleets is sufficient.

Example of a Successful Workplace Installation

Swift Charging recently supported a manufacturer in South Yorkshire to install multiple workplace EV charging stations, securing £4,250 in government funding and reducing their installation cost by over 75%. This demonstrates how the WCS can make workplace electrification both practical and affordable.

EV Infrastructure Grant for Staff & Fleets

For larger sites installing five or more charging bays, the EV Infrastructure Grant provides additional funding on top of the WCS grant.

Key Benefits:

  • £500 extra per socket on top of WCS

  • Covers infrastructure upgrades, such as wiring and power supply improvements

  • Covers up to 75% of total costs

  • Businesses can claim up to £15,000 or £850 per bay

Combining both grants can unlock up to £14,000 in funding for workplace EV charging

installation — a major boost for businesses expanding their EV infrastructure.

Why Combine Both EV Charging Grants?

Using both the Workplace Charging Scheme and the EV Infrastructure Grant allows your business to:

  • Reduce installation costs significantly

  • Scale EV infrastructure faster

  • Prepare for fleet electrification and staff EV adoption

  • Support your ESG and sustainability objectives
